Ski Slopes near Hangzhou - Chinese New Year's 2022 Self-travel Daytrip Destinations

Updated: Jan 27, 2022

It's Spring Festival 2022! Winter cold and snow machines turn the mountains around Hangzhou into a playground of snowy slopes. Find hotel stay and Hot Springs too! Here's our Top Four recommended ski destinations selected from seven local options. Prices sourced from Chinese Review App Dazhong Dianping(大众点评).

As winter in Hangzhou gets quite gloomy around the Spring Festival, there is a positive side to it – wet and cold weather turns the hills and mountains surrounding Hangzhou into snowy slopes! With that and usually a bit of help from humans, there are quite a few skiing places within a couple of hours drive from Hangzhou.

We were using 大众点评 for price reference and we strongly suggest that you book in advance as prices at the door may vary. In addition, we have noticed that there are plenty of different packages available, some of them including a hotel stay and hot spring baths, so make sure to explore your options to the fullest!

Anji Yunshan Ski Resort

安吉 云上草原滑雪场

Our top choice, good quality and a price to match.

Find more info on their price packages, location, snow and snow machines, equipment and surrounding scenery at their website(let your browser auto-translate the page for you):

Hangzhou Daming Mountain Ski Resort

杭州大明山滑雪场

One of the most famous and most popular ski resorts, the downside is that quite a lot of people go there so it might get a bit crowded on weekends and holidays.

Ticket includes: cable car up the mountain, includes entrance fee, skis or ski board and ski shoes)

Tip: Weekend Bus going from Binjiang to Daming Mountain Resort

Visit their website for more information including their services price list, reservation instructions, more pictures, practical information articles and more(let your browser auto-translate the page for you):

Below are some other options to consider. They are not as popular as the two above, but that isn’t to say they aren’t capable of delivering an enjoyable day on the snow.

Anji Jiangnan Tianqi Pretty Ski Resort

安吉 江南天泉

It looks like this destination doesn’t have its own website, but here’s an account of another person’s trip there. Once again, you can auto-translate it using your internet browser - google Chrome works!:

Ningbo Shanglianggang Ski Resort

宁波商量岗滑雪场

Once again, no dedicated website for this destination. Let your browser translate this page for you for a little more information on this ski spot:

Tip:

All of these resorts are good for a weekend escape, but at the end of the day it's good to remember not to have super high expectations - the Zhejiang climate doesn’t allow for really high quality ski slopes.

For those and more advanced ski tracks you might want to head up to the North of China, we will cover that in the near future. Stay tuned!

Happy Spring Festival!
